ISLAMABAD: The United States has denied entry to a senior Pakistani diplomat, sources revealed on Monday.
Pakistani Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahsan Wagan, was stopped by U.S. immigration officials at Los Angeles International Airport during a private visit and was refused entry.
The decision is reportedly linked to allegations of administrative corruption during his previous tenure in the United States, according to a Samaa TV report.
Based on these complaints, American authorities barred Ahsan Wagan from entering the country.
Ahsan Wagan currently serves as Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkmenistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet issued an official statement, but diplomatic circles suggest that the matter is under investigation.
