The Pakistani community in Dubai has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest UAE flag using 24,514 individual handprints, a project that symbolizes unity, love, and cross-cultural harmony.
Held at the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) auditorium on Thursday, May 22, the event brought together participants from over 100 nationalities — including citizens of India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Arab nations, and more — highlighting the multicultural spirit and inclusiveness of the UAE.
The achievement was officially verified by a Guinness World Records adjudicator in the presence of Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad.
Ambassador Tirmizi lauded the initiative, describing the handprints as “heart prints” that embody unity, commitment, and affection. He noted that the project reflects the vision of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and further strengthens the deep ties between the Pakistani community and the UAE.
The record-breaking flag was the result of a month-long campaign that began on April 13 during Pakistan Health Week in Dubai’s Al Quoz area. The initiative was spearheaded by the Pakistan Association Dubai in collaboration with Emirates Love Pakistan and visual artist Rubab Zahra, who first conceptualized the idea.
Rubab Zahra expressed her pride and joy in witnessing the project come to life. “When I first envisioned this, I approached PAD, and we worked tirelessly for a month. Today’s success proves that with dedication and courage, dreams can truly be transformed into achievements,” she said.
The enormous handprinted flag was displayed across the PAD building, symbolizing the collective effort of a diverse society and the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the UAE.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Mbali Nkosi congratulated the participants and confirmed the handprint count. “This was a tremendous achievement by Pakistan Association Dubai, Emirates Love Pakistan, and Rubab Zahra. Congratulations — you are officially amazing,” she announced.
PAD President Dr. Faisal Ikram also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all contributors, emphasizing that the achievement aligns with the UAE’s 2025 theme of the “Year of Community,” celebrating collaboration and social cohesion.
