In a significant development for regional defence cooperation, Pakistan and Türkiye’s naval special forces successfully concluded their first-ever bilateral military exercise in Karachi.
According to an official statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the historic drill marks a new chapter in the deepening military ties between the two strategically aligned nations.
Held in Karachi, the joint exercise brought together elite special operations units from the naval branches of both countries. The drill encompassed a range of advanced military operations designed to test and enhance combat readiness, strategic coordination, and joint operational capabilities in complex and high-pressure environments.
The training activities included both land and maritime operations, reflecting the multi-dimensional nature of contemporary naval warfare. Special attention was given to urban combat simulations, tactical manoeuvres in challenging terrains, and close-quarters battle scenarios.
The forces also demonstrated a wide array of modern weapons systems and engaged in simulated combat exercises, aimed at strengthening interoperability and sharpening real-time decision-making on the battlefield.
According to ISPR, the overarching aim of the joint drill was to bolster bilateral defence cooperation by refining coastal defence strategies and enhancing inter-force coordination for future missions. The exercise was also designed to foster greater understanding of each other’s operational doctrines and develop common protocols for combined maritime operations.
Senior military officials from both Pakistan and Türkiye observed the proceedings and praised the professional excellence and discipline demonstrated by the participating units. They termed the drill a milestone in defence diplomacy, emphasizing its significance in promoting peace, stability, and mutual trust in a region that continues to face evolving security challenges.
