A high-level Turkish delegation held a significant meeting with Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, setting the stage for expanded joint ventures and deeper bilateral cooperation across several major sectors.
The 15-member team from the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry received a warm welcome from the minister, who highlighted the strategic and time-tested friendship between Pakistan and Turkey.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to advance joint ventures in defence, communications, aerospace, automobiles, food, and manufacturing.
The Turkish delegation expressed strong interest from various Turkish companies eager to invest in Pakistan, particularly in sectors where European-style collaborative models have already proven successful. Discussions also focused on enhancing industrial development and creating new opportunities for technology exchange.
Abdul Aleem Khan reaffirmed that Pakistanโs support for Turkey goes beyond formal agreements, stating that โevery Pakistani will stand shoulder to shoulder with his Turkish brotherโ if the need ever arises.
Members of the Turkish delegation echoed this sentiment, sharing that the patriotic Pakistani song โJeeve Jeeve Pakistanโ is widely cherished in Turkey โ a reflection of the deep emotional ties between the two nations.
A key agenda point was the revival and strengthening of the IslamabadโTehranโIstanbul railway project. The minister assured Pakistanโs full cooperation, emphasizing the trackโs importance for regional connectivity and cross-border trade.
Reviewing bilateral progress over the past eighteen months, Abdul Aleem Khan called the developments โhighly encouraging,โ noting the strong interest shown by Turkish businesses in expanding European-style joint ventures. The delegation extended a formal invitation for the minister to visit Bursa and proposed further business-to-government interaction to accelerate trade and investment flows.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both sides to explore additional avenues of cooperation, particularly in defence and communications, which they described as pivotal pillars of the PakistanโTurkey partnership.
