Tehran: A Geopoll survey shows that during the US-Israeli war on Iran, public support for Iran far exceeds Israelโs in the region: Pakistan 82%, Egypt 49%, and even in Saudi Arabia, only 20% oppose Iran, while 65% choose โneither.โ
The Survey was conducted with the usual sample size methodology and it stretched over the period of the whole month. it is pertinent to note that the support for Iran war efforts and its resistance to the IDF was rated at the highest in Pakistan. In Egypt, the it was 49 per cent and lesser in other states covered. The following sates, Kenya, Nigeria,Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Pakistan were selected with the sample of approximately on average 650 or so respondents. The rationale for the survey countries selection: The six countries were selected to represent a diversity of economic profiles, geopolitical positions, and relationships to the conflict. Kenya and Nigeria are Sub-Saharan African economies heavily
exposed to global energy and food price shocks. South Africa occupies a distinct position as a BRICS
member with an active non-aligned foreign policy and a strong tradition of public engagement on
international justice issues. Egypt straddles the conflict zone itself, dependent on Suez Canal
revenues, a major wheat importer, and a direct neighbour to the theatre of operations. Saudi Arabia
is a regional power whose own security calculations are inseparable from the Iran-Israel-U.S.
dynamic. Pakistan brings the perspective of a nuclear-armed, Muslim-majority state with deep
historical ties to both Iran and Saudi Arabia, currently navigating severe economic fragility under IMF
supervision. The report can be accessed at; https://www.geopoll.com/blog/iran-israel-us-conflict-report/
