ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is expected to experience its first monsoon spell of the season starting June 25, 2025, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) officials said. The first monsoon spell will continue for eight days.
Deputy Director of the PMD, Anjum Nazir, confirmed that the monsoon rains are forecast to begin on Wednesday, June 25, and continue through July 2.
He also highlighted that Karachi is currently facing extreme heat due to low atmospheric pressure over the Arabian Sea, with the “feels like” temperature potentially reaching up to 50°C. However, he assured that weather conditions are likely to improve by Wednesday evening as sea breezes are expected to return.
“From June 19 onward, the skies over Karachi will remain mostly cloudy with chances of light drizzle during the morning and evening hours,” Nazir added.
In the meantime, hot and dry conditions will persist across most parts of the country over the next 12 hours. However, isolated areas in Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and parts of Southeast and Eastern Sindh may experience partly cloudy skies with dust storms or light rain.
