Pakistan has emerged as Indonesia’s top meat supplier, overtaking India due to its competitive pricing and growing global reputation. This development marks a major boost for Pakistan’s meat export industry.
Indonesia’s National Food Agency has announced plans to import 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat from Pakistan. This decision is part of Indonesia’s broader strategy to import 180,000 metric tonnes of beef and 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat this year.
Pakistan’s cost-effective pricing has made it the preferred choice for Indonesia, strengthening its position in the global meat trade. Previously, India dominated this sector, but the latest shift is expected to significantly increase Pakistan’s meat exports.
This move is also expected to enhance Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and contribute to economic growth. With rising international demand, experts predict a stronger presence for Pakistan in global meat markets, reinforcing its status as a reliable and affordable supplier.
