Pakistan has expressed full support for diplomatic efforts by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to ensure peace and stability in Yemen. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) commended the Gulf nationsโ initiatives and said Pakistan is closely monitoring developments in the conflict-affected country.
The MoFA stressed the importance of upholding Yemenโs unity and territorial integrity, urging all stakeholders to refrain from unilateral actions that could escalate tensions. It called on Yemeni parties to engage constructively and in good faith toward an inclusive political settlement based on mutually agreed parameters.
Pakistan expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic initiatives will lead to concrete steps toward lasting peace, ultimately ending the suffering of the Yemeni people, which has been exacerbated by years of conflict and humanitarian crises.
Meanwhile, Saudi-led coalition spokesman General Turki Al-Malki warned separatist forces that any attempts to undermine peace efforts would be met with firm action. The coalition is committed to protecting civilians and ensuring that diplomatic resolutions are respected on the ground.
Recent reports indicate that the Southern Transitional Council (STC) seized control of Hadhramaut province and expelled the internationally recognised government from Aden. The STC also rejected Saudi Arabiaโs calls to withdraw its forces, further complicating efforts to stabilise the region.
Pakistanโs stance highlights its support for regional diplomacy and adherence to international norms aimed at conflict resolution. By backing Saudi and UAE-led mediation, Islamabad aligns itself with efforts to facilitate negotiations among Yemeni factions, reduce hostilities, and promote humanitarian relief for affected populations.
The MoFA reiterated Pakistanโs commitment to a peaceful resolution in Yemen and urged all parties to participate in negotiations in good faith, emphasising that inclusive dialogue is essential to restoring lasting peace and stability in the war-torn country.
