Afghanistan, UAE to Battle for Final Spot
Pakistan have secured their place in the T20 tri-series final after defeating the United Arab Emirates by 31 runs for the second time in the tournament, this time in Sharjah on Thursday. The win mirrors their previous victory over the UAE last Saturday at the same venue.
Batting first, Pakistan set a target of 172, which proved too steep for the UAE, who managed only 140 in reply. The result confirms Pakistan’s dominance in the series so far and guarantees their spot in the final, scheduled for September 7.
The tri-nation T20 series, featuring Pakistan, the UAE, and Afghanistan, serves as preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup. Pakistan had previously beaten Afghanistan in the series opener but faltered against them in their second meeting a day ago.
The final group match between Afghanistan and the UAE, set for tomorrow, will determine who joins Pakistan in the final showdown.
