ISLAMABAD: In a gesture of friendship, the Government of Pakistan has announced visa exemption for all American and Iranian delegates, along with their media persons attending the Islamabad Talks 2026.
The facility is being offered in an effort to facilitate the arrival of delegates in order to ensure that the peace talks are not affected by any issues pertaining to entry. According to the official spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Tahir Andrabi, the Immigration department will offer a priority entry facility to all concerned individuals.
Simple Entry to Support Vital Peace Efforts
This move has been made by the government in order to make the best possible environment for the dialogue to take place. Furthermore, this visa waiver shall be available only during the course of the dialogue sessions and not to the other tourists. Moving from theory to practice, special counters have also been set up at the airports to facilitate a hassle-free process.
Also, this move clearly demonstrates Pakistanโs commitment towards holding the dialogue session in a successful manner. By ensuring that there are no visa issues, Pakistan wants both the parties to fully concentrate on making a ceasefire agreement permanent.
Positive Signal as Talks Gain Momentum
This was done amid ongoing talks involving top-level delegations from Washington and Tehran being held at the Jinnah Convention Centre. The US vice president, JD Vance, and the speaker of Iran, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, are spearheading the negotiations for their countries.
A large number of foreign correspondents have come to report on the conference as well. It is seen that the visa waiver policy clearly conveys that Pakistan is dedicated to the part of a supportive and neutral host. Both the countries appreciate the move and find it useful.
