ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has confirmed the receipt of the second tranche of funding from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
In an official statement, the central bank announced that it has received Special Drawing Rights (SDR) 760 million—equivalent to approximately $1.023 billion. This disbursement follows the IMF Executive Board’s approval on May 9, after its scheduled review of Pakistan’s economic performance.
The SBP noted that the funds will be reflected in the country’s foreign exchange reserves for the week ending May 16.
This tranche release comes after the IMF review mission evaluated Pakistan’s economic indicators and recommended the disbursement based on satisfactory progress under the EFF agreement.
