Pakistan Champions have officially secured their place in the final of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 after India Champions decided not to participate in the semi-final fixture. The tournament organisers confirmed that the highly anticipated clash was called off, resulting in a walkover for Pakistan.
The World Championship of Legends shared a statement on social media confirming the development. “At WCL, we have always believed in the power of sport to inspire and bring about positive change in the world. However, public sentiment must always be respected. After all, everything we do is for our audience,” the statement read.
The organisers acknowledged the decision made by the India Champions to forfeit the match and also recognised the readiness of the Pakistan Champions to compete. “Taking all factors into consideration, the match between the India Champions and the Pakistan Champions has been called off. As a result, Pakistan will advance to the final,” the statement added.
Kamil Khan, owner of the Pakistan Champions, also confirmed the development. Speaking on the matter, he stated, “Whether or not India declined to play, the WCL awarded us a walkover. Their position was clear, if one team fails to appear for the semi-final, the opposing team progresses to the final.”
He further emphasized that Pakistan’s performance in earlier matches had already demonstrated the team’s strong form. “It makes no difference that we did not play the semi-final. Given the standard of cricket we displayed in the previous rounds, the result would have been the same,” Khan asserted.
Despite the sudden change in schedule, Khan shared that the team had maintained its focus and preparedness for the semi-final match. “We were fully focused on preparing for the match. The identity of the opposing team was not a concern,” he added, underlining the team’s professional approach to the competition.
With the semi-final now behind them, the Pakistan Champions are setting their sights on the final. The deciding match will see them face either Australia Champions or South Africa Champions, depending on the outcome of the second semi-final.
As anticipation builds for the final, fans and players alike await the announcement of Pakistan’s opponent. Regardless of who reaches the final, the Pakistan Champions appear confident and ready to conclude the tournament with a strong performance.
