Attack on Qatar is Unlawful and Heinous
Pakistan and several other countries have strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar, targeting the Hamas leadership.
Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s air strike in Doha that targeted Hamas leaders, calling it a “most dangerous provocation.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed the attack “unlawful and heinous” in a statement posted on X.
He said Israel endangered civilians by hitting a residential area in the Qatari capital.
“The act is unjustified, a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, and threatens regional peace and stability,” Sharif stated.
He assured Qatar of Pakistan’s full solidarity while reaffirming support for Palestinians against Israeli aggression.
Foreign Minister Labels Strike Reprehensible
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also condemned the attack, describing it as “reprehensible” and a violation of international law.
Dar said Pakistan stood with Qatar in these grave times and reiterated support for the Palestinians.
Israel Confirms Responsibility
Israel confirmed responsibility for the strike.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility.”
Qatar Responds with Strong Condemnation
Qatar denounced the attack as “cowardly” and a “blatant violation of international laws and norms.”
Its foreign ministry said the strike endangered the lives of Qataris and residents.
Spokesperson Majed Al Ansari declared on X that Qatar “will not tolerate reckless Israeli behaviour.”
International Community Expresses Alarm
The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the attack a “flagrant violation of sovereignty.”
He urged all parties to pursue a permanent ceasefire to prevent further escalation.
Saudi Arabia condemned the “brutal Israeli aggression” and warned of dire consequences for regional security.
Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun said the strike continued Israel’s “series of aggressions” against the region.
Iran’s foreign ministry labelled the attack “dangerous” and a breach of international law.
The UAE denounced it as a “cowardly escalation” and pledged support for Qatar.
Turkiye said the strike showed Israel rejected peace efforts and pursued “expansionist politics” through state terrorism.
Jordan also condemned the air strikes, reaffirming its solidarity with Qatar.
