ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s maiden electric car prototype, NUR-E 75, has been launched on the 75th Independence Day (August 14, 2022).
The capacity of car’s battery will be 35kWh which will have enough power to drive the vehicle for 210km.

Dr Khurshid Qureshi, founder and chairperson of the Distinguished Innovation, Collaboration & Entrepreneurship (DICE) Foundation said the car will save a lot of fuel and support the climate change and economic prosperity. The foundation has designed and developed the prototype, NUR-E/75.
DICE Foundation, based in the United States, is a non-profit organisation. Expatriate Pakistanis from the US, the EU and other parts of the world, along with support from local academia and industries, are running the foundation.
Dr Qureshi explained that the car is being manufactured in three phases: the first was industrial design, production, and launch _ in the second stage, production will be expanded to Sedan and SUV, small commercial trucks and EV platform export; and in the third phase, the cars will be exported.
The fully functional prototype, EV NUR-E 75, is ready for testing and regulatory approval, while work on the design of a rolling platform to be used for various vehicle segments is underway.
Explaining different features of the five-seater hatchback, he said the car has a peak power of 80kW or 108hp, and a battery capacity of 35kWh covering 210km with the air conditioner turned off.
