ISLAMABAD: On Saturday morning, the Pakistan Army launched an Al-Fateh missile strike, dedicating the operation to the memory of the innocent children martyred during India’s recent unprovoked aggression on Pakistani soil.
“Pakistan has not forgotten, nor will it ever forget the sacrifices of these innocent souls,” official sources stated.
A photograph released by the military showed a launch vehicle bearing a banner inscribed with the names of the children who lost their lives in the attacks, underscoring the human cost of the ongoing hostilities.
The latest escalation in the decades-long conflict between Pakistan and India began on May 7, when an Indian cross-border assault killed at least 31 civilians, including several children. In swift retaliation, Pakistan claimed to have downed five Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets — including three Rafale aircraft — as well as dozens of drones.
India has since continued deploying drones into Pakistani airspace. Pakistan’s military reports having shot down nearly 80 unmanned aerial vehicles, including several Israeli-made IAI Heron drones known for their medium-altitude, long-endurance capabilities.
On Friday night, India reportedly carried out multiple missile strikes on Pakistani airbases, including Noor Khan, Murid, and Shorkot, launched from manned aircraft. According to Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, India also fired missiles into Afghanistan and conducted a drone strike in the region.
“India’s reckless actions are pushing the entire region toward war,” said Lt. Gen. Chaudhry during a press briefing, emphasizing that all Pakistan Air Force (PAF) assets remain secure. “We are fully prepared for any response.”
Following the attacks, the Pakistan Army launched a direct counter-offensive, citing India’s repeated provocations and violations of Pakistani sovereignty.
