Pakistan’s hopes of clinching the title at the World Junior Team Squash Championship were dashed after a decisive 2–0 defeat against England in the quarter-finals. The high-stakes encounter, held in Cairo, saw the English side dominate from the outset, ending Pakistan’s journey in the championship’s knockout round.
In the first match, England’s Dylan Roberts outclassed Anas Ali Shah of Pakistan with a convincing performance. Roberts won in straight sets, posting scores of 11–7, 11–6, and 11–5. Despite Shah’s efforts to push the tempo, Roberts remained composed and in control, giving England an early advantage in the tie.
The pressure was on Pakistan in the second match, where Abdullah Nawaz faced Alexander Broadbridge. Nawaz fought valiantly, especially in the closely contested opening and final games, but ultimately fell short. Broadbridge sealed the match with a 3–0 victory, registering scores of 14–12, 11–2, and 11–9. With this win, England secured the quarter-final tie without needing a third match.
As a result of the loss, Pakistan have been eliminated from contention for the championship title. However, their campaign continues as they now enter the classification play-offs to determine positions five through eight. Their next challenge will be against the Czech Republic.

While the quarter-final exit marks a setback for the national junior squad, the young team still has an opportunity to finish the tournament on a positive note. With strong performances in the remaining play-off matches, Pakistan can secure a respectable final standing in the global event.
The World Junior Team Squash Championship is being hosted in Cairo, Egypt, drawing top junior talent from around the world and serving as a vital platform for emerging squash stars to showcase their skills on the international stage.
