The ticket prices for the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup cricket match, scheduled for June 9 at Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York, have been revealed.
The prices for this highly anticipated match range from $175 to $400, equivalent to over 100,000 Pakistani rupees.
Nassau Cricket Stadium, with a capacity of 34,000 spectators, offers three ticket categories: Standard, Standard Plus, and Premium.
Standard tickets are priced at $175, approximately Rs48,000 PKR, while Standard Plus tickets are available for $300, equivalent to Rs83,000, and Premium tickets are priced at $400, around Rs100,000.
Fans from Pakistan planning to attend this clash will also need to consider accommodation expenses. Local hotels in New York are currently charging between Rs10,000 to Rs100,000 per night.
The Pakistan cricket team, led by Babar Azam, will begin their T20 World Cup campaign on June 6 against the hosts, the USA, in Dallas.
They will then face Canada on June 11 in New York, and their final group match will be held in Florida against Ireland on June 16.
Meanwhile, following the release of tickets for the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, the Pakistan-India match has garnered significant attention due to exorbitant resale prices, exceeding $50,000 (PKR 13.91 million), as reported by USA Today.
Officially, the match tickets commenced at a reasonable $6, with premium options reaching up to $400. However, these tickets have swiftly made their way onto resale platforms such as StubHub and SeatGeek.
In a historic move, the USA is co-hosting its first ICC cricket tournament with the West Indies this year. The tournament is scheduled to feature 55 matches across Texas, New York, and Florida from June 1 to June 29, with the much-anticipated clash between Pakistan and India slated for June 9 in New York City.
Despite the International Cricket Council (ICC) affirming that no additional fees would be imposed beyond specified taxes, resale prices paint a different picture. The resale prices on StubHub reveal the cheapest ticket for the Pakistan-India match is listed at $1,259. Meanwhile, SeatGeek boasts a staggering highest-priced ticket close to $175,000, inclusive of $50,000 in fees, bringing the total to nearly a quarter of a million dollars.
Even the lowest-priced ticket on SeatGeek is considerably high at $1,166 before accounting for taxes or fees, as of Friday afternoon.
