Facilitation desks set up as flight disruptions affect travelers
Abu Dhabi: The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi has launched an online registration initiative to support Pakistani nationals residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. In a post on X, the embassy announced that it introduced the registration form to strengthen facilitation and outreach efforts for the community.
Furthermore, officials directed Pakistani nationals living in the UAE to complete the online form to ensure timely assistance if needed. The embassy also established round-the-clock facilitation desks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai to respond to urgent concerns and coordinate support services.
In addition, authorities urged Pakistani citizens stranded in transit due to flight disruptions and airport closures to register through a separate online form. The embassy emphasized that accurate and complete information would enable coordination with relevant authorities and airlines to extend necessary assistance.
Foreign Office activates crisis unit to monitor developments
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed it had activated its Crisis Management Unit to closely monitor the evolving situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. Officials stated that the unit will oversee developments and provide assistance to Pakistani nationals abroad.
The measures follow a sharp escalation in regional hostilities. Iran launched a fresh round of attacks targeting US assets in Gulf countries, including the UAE. Earlier, the United States and Israel carried out what they described as a pre-emptive joint strike on Iranian targets, with President Donald Trump announcing the start of major combat operations.
As tensions rise, Pakistani authorities continue to advise nationals to remain vigilant and maintain contact with the embassy for updates and guidance.
