Pakistan didn’t mince words Tuesday. The Foreign Office straight-up demanded the international community get moving fast to shut down Israel’s military strikes inside Lebanon. This came right as another round of Israeli airstrikes lit up Beirut’s southern suburbs. Thick smoke still hung over the city.
How Lebanon Got Pulled Into the Bigger Fight
The mess started escalating this month. Hezbollah โ the powerful Lebanese group โ launched rockets and drones across the border into Israel. In response, Israel carried out heavy, widespread bombing runs all over Lebanon. According to the World Health Organization, 486 people have died so far, and 1,313 were wounded. Among the dead are 259 children. Nearly half a million Lebanese have had to flee their homes. Many are now crammed into schools, relatives’ houses, or just out in the open.
Pakistan Calls It Out Loud and Clear
The Foreign Office statement hit hard. It blasted Israel’s “continued military aggression” for killing hundreds of civilians and forcing so many to flee. Pakistani officials said these attacks break international law flat-out. They also make it almost impossible for Lebanon’s government to bring calm or normal life back. Moreover, they warned the region could slide into a worse security nightmare and humanitarian disaster if the bombing doesn’t stop soon.
What Pakistan Wants Done โ Right Away
Pakistan also insisted Israel pull every soldier and asset out of all occupied Lebanese territory immediately, completely, and with no strings attached.
