ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has claimed that the Pakistan Armed Forces successfully jammed four Indian Rafale fighter jets during an attempted incursion into Pakistani airspace.
โFour Rafale jets entered from the Indian side and were effectively jammed by our forces,โ Asif stated. โFollowing this, there has been no further activity from India.โ
Despite the absence of follow-up action, the minister warned that tensions remain high. โWe cannot assume the threat from India has subsided,โ he said, calling for continued vigilance along the border.
On the issue of regional water disputes, Asif revealed that Pakistan will formally engage with the World Bank in the coming days to address concerns related to the Indus Waters Treaty. โA formal process is about to begin,โ he confirmed.
Addressing the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the minister raised doubts about the narrative emerging from India, even suggesting it could have been a false-flag operation. โOne must question whether Prime Minister Modi orchestrated the Pahalgam incident himself,โ Asif remarked.
He further asserted that India has failed to provide any credible evidence implicating Pakistan in the attack. โNo proof has been shared by India linking Pakistan to the incident,โ he added.
Asifโs remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and escalating rhetoric between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, following the deadly Pahalgam attack.
