UAE Naval Commander meets Pakistan Navy Chief in Islamabad: Talks focus on regional security and maritime collaboration
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral defense ties during a high-level meeting at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.
The Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdullah Alremeithi, met with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf to discuss key issues of mutual interest. The meeting focused on regional security dynamics, maritime challenges, and avenues to expand defense collaboration.
Focus on Maritime Security
Admiral Naveed Ashraf briefed the visiting commander on the Pakistan Navy’s initiatives to promote peace and stability in regional waters. He highlighted the role of Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP), an initiative that has enhanced cooperative security in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea.
Major General Alremeithi praised the Pakistan Navy’s contributions toward maintaining maritime security and ensuring safe sea lanes. He emphasized that the UAE values its defense partnership with Pakistan and looks forward to enhanced naval collaboration.
Symbol of Strong Bilateral Ties
Upon his arrival at the Naval Headquarters, Major General Alremeithi received a guard of honor from a smartly turned-out contingent. The ceremony symbolized the close defense partnership and mutual respect between the two nations’ armed forces.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to continue working together to strengthen regional peace, counter evolving maritime threats, and expand training and operational exchanges.
