Pakistan and Tunisia have agreed to enhance coordination in multilateral forums while strengthening bilateral relations across political, economic, and regional domains.
4th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations
The 4th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Tunisia was recently held, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to deeper collaboration. Pakistanโs delegation was led by Additional Foreign Secretary (Africa) Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan. Tunisia was represented by Director General (Asia) Ambassador Slim Ghariani.
During the consultations, both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including political cooperation, high-level exchanges, trade and investment, defense and security collaboration, education, and people-to-people contacts.
Economic Cooperation and Upcoming Joint Commission
The discussions highlighted strategies to deepen economic cooperation ahead of the 10th Joint Commission Meeting, scheduled in Islamabad in 2026. Both delegations emphasized the importance of strengthening trade links and investment opportunities to boost economic growth in both countries.
Coordination in Multilateral Forums
A significant focus of the meeting was enhancing collaboration in multilateral platforms, particularly the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Both nations agreed to coordinate their positions on global issues, including regional stability, peace initiatives, and development agendas.
Regional and International Developments
Pakistan and Tunisia also exchanged views on regional and international matters, with attention to the Middle East, Palestine, and North Africa. The dialogue underscored the importance of shared perspectives in addressing global challenges and fostering stability in critical regions.

During the visit, the Pakistani delegation also met with Mohamed Ben Ayed, Secretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad. Both sides highlighted the importance of continuous diplomatic engagement and high-level exchanges to strengthen bilateral ties.

Pakistan and Tunisia share a long history of cordial relations built on mutual respect and cooperation. This year marks the 67th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
