ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday held a high-level meeting with Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal. The discussions focused on expanding cricket in Saudi Arabia and elevating bilateral sports collaboration.
The visit underscores growing momentum in PakistanโSaudi sports relations, aligning with Saudi Arabiaโs Vision 2030 transformation of its sports sector. Officials said both sides explored detailed plans to promote cricket and enhance institutional coordination between the two countries. They agreed that sports bodies will intensify engagement and cooperation in the coming months.
Naqvi Praises Saudi Sports Leadership
Mohsin Naqvi lauded Prince Abdulaziz for his contributions to sports development, highlighting the Kingdomโs โextraordinary stepsโ under Vision 2030 to boost its global sporting presence.
He noted Saudi Arabiaโs rapid rise as a venue for international competitions, stating the country has โcreated new historyโ by hosting world-class tournaments.
Naqvi also congratulated Prince Abdulaziz for securing the FIFA World Cup 2034 hosting rights, describing it as a landmark achievement for the Kingdom and the region.
