ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski vowed on Thursday to elevate bilateral relations “to new heights” based on mutual respect, equality, and shared strategic interests.
During a joint press conference, both leaders reaffirmed their resolve to deepen cooperation across economic, trade, energy, infrastructure, mining, and defense sectors, expressing optimism about future collaboration.
Strengthening Historic Friendship
Welcoming his Polish counterpart at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar highlighted the historic and friendly ties between the two nations.
“Pakistan enjoys strong relations with Poland built on mutual respect and understanding,” he said. Dar emphasized the importance of expanding political dialogue and fostering long-term economic partnerships.
Poland Commends Pakistan’s Hospitality
Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s warm welcome, describing the discussions as “fruitful and forward-looking.”
He confirmed the signing of new Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including mining, energy, and technology.
“Cooperation in the mining and energy sectors was also discussed,” Sikorski noted, reaffirming Poland’s interest in joint ventures and technology sharing to boost sustainable growth.
Shared Vision for Regional and Global Peace
The two sides also exchanged views on key regional and international issues, including the situations in Kashmir and Palestine.
Sikorski reiterated Poland’s support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of peace in Gaza under the UN Charter. He also called for diplomatic efforts to ensure long-term stability in South Asia.
At the delegation-level meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthen political dialogue and expand cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
