ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army and Chinaโs Peopleโs Liberation Army have initiated a joint military exercise _ Warrior-IX. The exercise started at the National Counter Terrorism Center in Pabbi, Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed the development on Tuesday. ISPR said the exercise began on December 1 at the National Counter Terrorism Centre in Pabbi.
The latest edition marks the ninth exercise in the annual counterterrorism series. Both countries hold these drills to strengthen their enduring strategic partnership.
Moreover, officials highlighted the exerciseโs focus on counterterrorism operations in diverse scenarios. They said the drills aim to enhance interoperability and improve mission readiness. Trainers from both sides are overseeing detailed field manoeuvres and urban combat sessions. Participants are engaging in realistic simulations to refine skills for modern battlefield challenges. Every module stresses rapid response tactics and coordinated execution during complex operations.
Senior Leadership Observes Opening Ceremony
Senior military leaders from both countries attended the opening ceremony. Mangla Corps Commander and other Pakistan Army officials welcomed the visiting PLA delegation. Major General Bian Xiaoming represented the Western Theatre Command during the ceremony. His presence signalled Chinaโs strong commitment to this bilateral cooperation. Officials from both states praised the exercise for promoting regional stability and confidence.
Additionally, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen defence ties. They stressed that Warrior-IX reflects their shared commitment to long-term security goals. The collaborative approach supports efforts to counter evolving threats in the region. Both forces continue to exchange best practices for efficient counterterrorism operations.
