ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports to China in the month of August 2021 have doubled. In August, Pakistan exported various goods to China worth $197.27 million, compared to $94 million exports in August 2020.
Prime Minister’s adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood announced this heartening development today through his Twitter handle.
Product wise, the exports of Home Textiles have surged by 50% YoY to $385.08 in the month of August’21, compared to August’20.

In addition, the exports of Men’s Garments, Cotton Fabric, Rice, Jerseys, Fruits, Vegetables and T-shirts have also witnessed an uptick of 47% YoY, 31% YoY, 43% YoY, 70% YoY, 63% YoY, and 56% YoY to stand at $377.14mn, $189.27mn, $72.82mn, $58.34mn and $42.64 compared to the same month last year.

On the other hand, the exports of Surgical instruments, Fish & Fish Products, Cement, Tents & Canvas and Wood & articles of wood clocked in at $32.42mn, $1.27mn, $9.49mn, $5.7mn, and $1.61mn, dropped by 4% YoY, 24% YoY, 56% YoY, 24% YoY, and 67% YoY, respectively.
Meanwhile, the exports to the US, the UK, The Netherlands, Germany and Spain have also increased while those to Afghanistan, Denmark, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore and Czech Republic decreased during August’21 as compared to the same period last year.
Comparative exports data, Razak Dawood shared on Twitter showed that Pakistan’s exports to China marked the highest growth of 109 percent while exports to USA increased by 60 percent and 20 percent growth was noted in exports to the United Kingdom in August 2021. Textile, men’s garments, cotton fabric, rice, fruits/vegetables, T-shirts and surgical instruments led growth in exports last month.
