Ghotki: Police and Rangers carried out a joint operation in the Ronti Kacha area of Sindh, leading to the surrender of notorious criminal Sanaullah, alias Tanushar, on Sunday, officials said.
Gang leader wanted in over 50 cases
During the operation, Sanaullah laid down his weapons and surrendered without resistance. Authorities confirmed that he was wanted in more than 50 cases registered with police in Sindh and Punjab. Investigators linked him to a Rs10 million heist and described him as a long-time fugitive operating across multiple districts.
Moreover, police accused him of involvement in the killing of 17 police officers and personnel in both provinces. Law enforcement agencies had pursued him for several years. Therefore, officials termed his surrender a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to restore law and order in the riverine belt.
Sanaullah, also known as Sanao, son of Jangal alias Bago Shar, operated as a key figure in criminal networks in the Kacha area. Authorities charged him with murder, attempted murder, kidnapping for ransom, armed robbery, violations of the Arms Act, and offences under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Government vows continued crackdown
Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar described the surrender as a significant success of the governmentโs strategy and sustained operational pressure. He credited DIG Nasir Aftab and SSP Ghotki Anwar Khetran, along with their teams, for maintaining professionalism and intensifying actions in the region.
Lanjar reiterated that authorities would offer opportunities to those willing to abandon crime. However, he stressed that law enforcement would bring individuals involved in heinous offences to justice without exception. He emphasized that maintaining law and order remains the governmentโs top priority, with no compromise on public safety.
