Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi is admired by millions of fans across India, but in one shocking case, a man’s alleged obsession with her has turned into a nightmare for his wife.
A 26-year-old woman from Muradnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has accused her 28-year-old husband, a physical education teacher from Meerut, of forcing her into three-hour gym sessions every day in an attempt to make her “look like” Nora Fatehi.
According to the complaint, if she resisted the exercise routines, her husband allegedly restricted her food intake to prevent her from gaining weight.
Taunts and Dowry Demands
The woman, who was married in March 2025, stated that her husband frequently taunted her appearance and claimed that his life had been ruined because he did not marry someone resembling the actress.
Her family reportedly spent nearly ₹75 lakh on the wedding, providing a Mahindra Scorpio SUV, jewellery, and cash, yet her in-laws allegedly continued to pressure her for more dowry.
Alleged Forced Miscarriage
In her statement, the woman also alleged that she became pregnant two months after marriage but was tricked into consuming an abortion pill by her husband. The incident reportedly caused a miscarriage, after which she required hospitalisation.
She further claimed that in July 2025, her in-laws barred her from re-entering the family home, leaving her without support.
Police Action and FIR Filed
Authorities have confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the husband and his parents under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to dowry harassment, humiliation, and forced abortion. Police said investigations are ongoing to verify the woman’s allegations.
A Disturbing Trend of Obsession
This case has raised concerns about the impact of celebrity obsession when taken to extreme and abusive levels. While admiration for stars is common, experts stress that such cases highlight deeper issues of domestic abuse, body shaming, and dowry-related harassment in society.
