Noah Kahan fans finally have something big to look forward to. The Vermont-born singer-songwriter has confirmed that a brand-new album is on the way, marking his first full-length release in four years.
On Wednesday, January 28, Kahan revealed via Instagram and TikTok that his upcoming fourth studio album, titled The Great Divide, will be released on Friday, April 24, 2026. The announcement immediately sent waves of excitement through his fanbase, many of whom have been eagerly awaiting new music since his last album.
Alongside the announcement, Kahan shared a deeply personal caption that offered insight into the emotional core of the project.
โFrom a long silence forms a divide, a great expanse demanding attention,โ he wrote. โI stare across it. I see old friends, my father, my mother, my siblings, my younger self, the great state of Vermont.โ
The singer described the album as a reflection on distance โ emotional, personal, and geographic โ and an attempt to put into words the thoughts and feelings that have shaped him.
โThe songs are the words I would say if I could,โ Kahan continued. โThey are the fears I dance with in the moments before I drift off to sleep. The music here is my best attempt to delve deeper into the people, places, and feelings that have made me who I am.โ
A Long-Awaited Return
The Great Divide marks Kahanโs first album in four years, making it one of the most anticipated folk-pop releases of 2026. Known for his introspective songwriting and emotionally raw storytelling, Kahan has built a devoted following by drawing heavily from his upbringing in Vermont and his experiences with mental health, family, and identity.
Fans can now pre-save the album on Spotify and Apple Music, as well as pre-order CD and vinyl editions, ahead of its April release.
New Single Arrives This Week
To bridge the gap until the albumโs release, Kahan will drop a lead single also titled โThe Great Divideโ on Friday, January 30.
For some fans, particularly those in New England, the song may already sound familiar. Kahan previously performed the unreleased track during a one-night-only benefit concert at MGM Music Hall in November 2025, giving attendees an early glimpse into the albumโs sound and emotional direction.
With a new single just days away and a deeply personal album on the horizon, 2026 is shaping up to be a major year for Noah Kahan โ and for fans who have been waiting patiently for his next chapter.
