Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that any external aggression would be met with a firm and decisive response.
Speaking at an interactive session with students and teachers in Abbottabad, Lt Gen Chaudhry highlighted the ongoing efforts of the armed forces against terrorism and internal instability. He said Pakistan had taken significant and effective measures to combat terrorism and neutralize elements associated with Fitna al-Khawarij.
“Strong and Severe Response” to External Threats
Lt Gen Chaudhry made it clear that the Pakistan Army stands resolute in its mission to safeguard the homeland. He warned that any act of external aggression would face a “strong and severe response.”
He also discussed current challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and the broader internal security landscape. According to him, the nation is facing what he termed as “Marka-e-Haq,” a just struggle to preserve peace and stability.
The DG ISPR underscored that Pakistan’s armed forces are not only defending territorial borders but are also working to protect the ideological and moral fabric of the nation.
Youth Must Stay Vigilant Against Misinformation
During the session, faculty members and students expressed their appreciation for the sacrifices made by the armed forces. They also discussed the rising threat of misinformation campaigns aimed at misleading the youth.
Teachers called for the need to provide young people with factual and verified information. They stressed that hostile elements often exploit digital spaces to spread false narratives and undermine national unity.
Students echoed this concern, stating that awareness sessions like these play a key role in clarifying misconceptions about national issues. They said they were proud of the Pakistan Army’s efforts to maintain peace and stability across the country.
Tribute to Martyrs and Veterans
Participants at the session paid glowing tributes to the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan’s armed forces. The gathering expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by soldiers in the line of duty.
Hazara University Vice Chancellor Dr Ikramullah Khan praised the Pakistan Army, describing it as “the true symbol of patriotism.” He added that the nation has always stood behind its soldiers, just as the soldiers have always stood on the frontlines to defend the country.
Pakistan’s Commitment to Peace and Security
Lt Gen Chaudhry’s remarks reflect the Pakistan Army’s broader commitment to ensuring internal peace while addressing regional security challenges. The armed forces continue to take proactive measures to eliminate terrorist networks and counter external threats.
He reaffirmed that the military’s strength lies in its unity with the people of Pakistan. The DG ISPR’s address served as both a reassurance and a reminder — that Pakistan’s defense and sovereignty remain non-negotiable.
