The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and DP World have officially announced a groundbreaking strategic partnership aimed at modernizing Pakistan’s logistics and supply chain systems, marking a historic shift in the country’s logistics landscape.
This collaboration sets the stage to establish new industry benchmarks for excellence. A high-profile ceremony in Karachi, attended by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, who was the chief guest, celebrated the landmark alliance. Senior officials from both organizations, government representatives, and members of the business community were also present.
Bin Sulayem expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Partnering with Pakistan’s largest logistics organization is a proud moment for DP World. This collaboration is a significant milestone for the logistics sector in Pakistan. By combining NLC’s deep regional expertise with DP World’s global capabilities, we are creating a strong foundation that will benefit the trading community.”
He further highlighted the progress already made under the partnership, saying, “The construction of modern logistics parks in Pakistan is advancing rapidly. Additionally, container movement from Jebel Ali Port to Karachi and other regional destinations has already begun.”
During the welcome address, NLC’s Director-General emphasized the importance of the partnership, noting, “It is an honor for NLC to collaborate with DP World. This joint effort will drive innovation in the logistics sector and strengthen Pakistan’s position as a regional trade hub.” He also highlighted the economic advantages, stating, “This partnership will attract foreign direct investment and create thousands of job opportunities.”
The agreement includes the establishment of two joint venture companies. One will focus on enhancing supply chain efficiency across various industries by utilizing state-of-the-art facilities and best practices. The other will modernize the road freight transportation system, improving trade with neighboring countries through land routes.
The partnership between NLC and DP World is set to be a catalyst for economic growth, fostering enhanced trade and connectivity while laying the foundation for a brighter future for Pakistan and the broader region.
