Rap superstar Nicki Minaj and U.S. President Donald Trump exchanged high praise during a summit promoting “Trump Accounts,” a type of individual retirement account aimed at encouraging early wealth building, held earlier this week.
Minaj, 43, joined Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at the event, where she addressed the audience after being invited on stage by the president. During her remarks, the rapper pledged a total of $450,000 to support her fans’ Trump Accounts, including an initial $150,000 and an additional $300,000 in follow-up funding.
“I will say that I am probably the president’s No.1 fan. And that’s not going to change. The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more,” Minaj told the crowd.
She also condemned what she called smear campaigns and bullying against Trump, stating, “We are not going to let them get away with bullying him. It’s not going to work, OK? He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him.”
Trump, in turn, lauded Minaj as “the greatest and most successful female rapper in history.” The president also complimented her iconic long nails, joking, “I am going to let my nails grow because I love those nails,” while holding hands with Minaj during the ceremony.
The summit highlighted the Trump Accounts initiative as a means to encourage financial literacy and early investment among Americans, with celebrity endorsements intended to increase engagement. Minaj’s high-profile support drew widespread attention on social media, quickly going viral and sparking discussions among fans and observers nationwide.
Organisers emphasised that the initiative aims to help individuals plan for retirement while promoting financial awareness, with events like this summit serving as a platform to engage younger audiences and encourage proactive wealth-building strategies.
