Netflix has released the first teaser for its upcoming six-part adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride & Prejudice, reimagined by writer and producer Dolly Alderton. The 54-second clip offers fans an early look at Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy, presenting a visually faithful homage to the story while subtly nodding to the 2005 film version starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.
Directed by Euros Lyn, the series is set to premiere in fall 2026. The cast also features Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet and Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, alongside Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, and Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley. Additional roles include Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery as Mary and Kitty Bennet, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
The adaptation aims to deliver a fresh yet faithful retelling of Austen’s tale, highlighting love, social expectations, and family dynamics, while integrating Alderton’s modern storytelling sensibility. Corrin also takes on a new role behind the camera as an executive producer, marking their production debut. Other executive producers include Alderton, Euros Lyn, Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point.
Although brief and largely dialogue-free, the teaser emphasizes period detail, costume design, and character-driven storytelling, building anticipation for one of 2026’s most highly anticipated literary adaptations. Fans and critics alike are expected to scrutinize the series for its balance of faithfulness to the source material and contemporary narrative touches.
