ISLAMABAD: The National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) has warned of five distinct weather systems expected to bring thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and heavy rainfall across various regions of the country. Islamabad and Rawalpindi are forecast to experience particularly intense conditions.
In response, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has directed all provincial and district administrations to remain on high alert, ensure emergency preparedness, and coordinate closely with local response teams. NDMA will continue to monitor developments and provide regular updates.
A public advisory has been issued urging citizens to exercise caution. People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in mountainous or flood-prone areas, and to secure structures, trees, power lines, and solar panels. Vehicles should be parked in sheltered, safe areas.
Farmers are encouraged to take precautions to safeguard standing crops from hail and strong winds. Travellers and tourists should remain cautious, particularly during outdoor or mountain activities.
For real-time updates, NDMA recommends using the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert app.
