LAHORE: Around 2000 Sikh pilgrims are returning to India today after completing a ten-day religious pilgrimage in Pakistan. The pilgrimage was held to commemorate the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.
Punjab Minister to See Off Pilgrims at Wagah Border
According to official details released on Thursday, Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora will personally bid farewell to the departing pilgrims at the Wagah border. The minister will extend best wishes to the visitors as they conclude their spiritual journey.
Pilgrims Praise Pakistanโs Hospitality
The Sikh pilgrims expressed deep satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). They said they experienced the same love, warmth, and peace in Pakistan as they would in their own homes.
The visitors commended the preservation and maintenance of gurdwaras across Pakistan. They noted that each sacred site had been maintained with respect and devotion, reflecting the countryโs commitment to religious harmony.
Message of Peace and Humanity
The pilgrims further highlighted that the hospitality extended by the Pakistani people represented the true message of humanity and peace taught by Baba Guru Nanak. They said their visit strengthened the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the Sikh community and the people of Pakistan.
Visits to Sacred Gurdwaras Across Pakistan
During their stay, the pilgrims visited several significant religious sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur. These visits formed part of the annual celebrations, which also welcomed Sikh pilgrims from around the world.
Officials said that the visitors were provided special hospitality and security arrangements, ensuring a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling experience throughout their pilgrimage.
