The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds expected to hit parts of Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 48 hours.
According to the NDMA, several districts in Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tharparkar, Badin, and Umerkot are likely to experience intense rainfall.
In Punjab, rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in the upper and central regions, with cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Mianwali likely to be affected. The federal capital, Islamabad, is also included in the forecast.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to receive heavy rainfall in districts such as Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Peshawar, Bannu, and Waziristan.
The NDMA has cautioned that urban flooding is possible in major cities, while landslides may occur in mountainous and hilly areas.
Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable locations to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and take safety precautions to protect themselves from potential flash floods and other hazards.
