ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested the prime suspect in an international network producing and distributing child abuse material.
Officials said the major operation took place in Islamabad after the agency traced the suspect’s digital footprint.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the accused, identified as Asim Mohammad Qasim, was allegedly spreading exploitative content through WhatsApp, Telegram, and other social media platforms.
The operation, codenamed “Roads” and “Iceberg,” was conducted in coordination with the Australian Federal Police, with support from Interpol and other global law enforcement bodies.
Reports from partner agencies helped investigators identify groups named “Rainbow” and “MyLuvDollyCon” as central to the criminal network.
Investigators recovered mobile data, videos, and images of minors from the suspect’s possession.
Preliminary evidence indicates that Qasim was directly involved in both producing and distributing the illegal material.
Authorities also found proof of his communication with international collaborators using the aliases “Sassy” and “Twinkle.”
The suspect, a resident of Ichhra, Lahore, has been booked under cybercrime and child protection laws.
Officials said efforts are underway to identify other individuals linked to the network and locate potential victims.
Sources confirmed that detailed case reports have been shared with relevant national and international agencies.
Inspector Iqram Muqaddas, who is supervising the investigation, said that more arrests are expected as inquiries continue.
