Islamabad: The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has prohibited the entry of YouTubers and unauthorized individuals into Parliament House, as per news sources.
Sources indicate that the National Assembly speaker has relieved eight security personnel of their duties due to the unauthorized entry of individuals into Parliament House.
The sources further mentioned that the dismissed employees were stationed at the inner gates of Parliament House.
The Sergeant-at-Arms has been instructed to launch an investigation into the suspended personnel who permitted unauthorized individuals to enter Parliament House without proper identification, according to sources.
Sources disclosed that the unauthorized individuals halted some members and ministers within Parliament and requested photographs.
The Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, brought the incident to the attention of the Speaker, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures within the National Assembly building and its surroundings.
Addressing the National Assembly, the minister emphasized the frequent presence of unidentified individuals at the building’s entrance, outside the hall, near the elevators, and in the corridors, posing significant security concerns.
Asif pointed out that in the past, there was a strict system for issuing passes to Members of the National Assembly (MNAs), which should be reinstated to uphold Parliament’s security.
He also raised concerns about the disruptive behavior of individuals in the gallery who engage in slogan chanting, undermining the House’s sanctity.
The minister underscored the importance of halting such activities, emphasizing that the National Assembly is not a venue for protests or demonstrations.
