A 10-year-old boy from Swat, Pakistan, named Muhammad Bashar, has garnered international attention by achieving fourth place in the highly regarded International Quran Recitation Competition, “Mazamir Dawood.”

This event, held in Algeria, brought together talented young Quran reciters from around the globe, providing a platform to showcase their exceptional skills and deep understanding of the Quran.

The competition was organized by Echorouk, a prominent private media channel in Algeria, and took place between August 18 and 31, 2024. It attracted participants from more than 15 countries, reflecting the global significance and prestige of the event.

Muhammad Bashar’s remarkable performance amidst such diverse international competitors not only highlights his dedication and skill but also serves as a testament to the rich tradition of Quranic recitation in Pakistan.

Bashar’s strong recitation and mastery of the Quran earned him the fourth position in the competition, along with a prize of $1,500. This competition was held under the patronage of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, further emphasizing the country’s commitment to promoting Quranic learning and appreciation among the younger generation.

These events collectively serve to encourage youth participation in religious and cultural activities and build bridges of understanding among the Muslim communities worldwide.
