Rejection of Visas
Following a press briefing by the US State Department in which a question arose regarding the rejection of Visas for Pakistani-Americans traveling to their homeland, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel stated, “I’m not aware. If there were any issues in this area, it would be something for Pakistani consular officials to address, not the State Department.”
An embassy spokesperson subsequently emphasized a warm welcome for Pakistani-Americans and other overseas Pakistanis to visit their motherland.
The spokesperson further stated, “The embassy continues to provide all possible consular assistance, including visas.”
Additionally, the embassy highlighted that visa requests are processed online 24/7, ensuring there should be no cause for concern.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC has extended a warm invitation to Pakistani-Americans, urging them to explore their roots and visit Pakistan either by utilizing their National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or obtaining visas through convenient channels.
With the option to apply for visas online round the clock, the embassy assures that the process is hassle-free and accessible. Additionally, Pakistani-Americans can also secure visas from the embassy in Washington DC or at one of the four Consulates General located in New York, Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles.
This inclusive approach encourages the Pakistani diaspora to connect with their homeland, fostering cultural exchange, family reunions, and a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s rich heritage.
The embassy’s outreach aims to alleviate any concerns, emphasizing the ease of obtaining travel documentation, thereby fostering stronger ties between Pakistani-Americans and Pakistan.
Senators snub Power Division officials over inflated bills
Meanwhile, Senators criticized the power division and its subsidiary companies during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Power chaired by Senator Saifullah Abro on Tuesday.
They proposed implementing a one-slab benefit for all residential users, emphasizing the protection of those consuming less than 200 units monthly from tariff hikes, even if their consumption exceeds the threshold for a month or so.
