Two soldiers and police officer were killed in attacks in D.I. Khan and Lakki

DERA ISMAIL KHAN/LAKKI MARWAT: On Sunday, two soldiers were killed and three others injured in an attack on a security forces convoy in Kulachi tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan district.

Additionally, a police constable was martyred and three others were wounded in an ambush on a police van in Lakki Marwat district.

In Dera Ismail Khan, militants targeted a convoy of security forces and an elite unit near the Maddi area in Kulachi tehsil, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kulachi police station.

The attack resulted in the deaths of two soldiers, Havaldar Mohammad Shaukat and Sepoy Mohammad Imran. The injured soldiers were identified as Amjad, Ajmal, and Jahanzeb.

Following the attack, police, security forces, and Rescue 1122 teams quickly arrived at the scene. The deceased and injured were transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in D.I. Khan for medical treatment.

In Lakki Marwat, a separate assault took place when militants ambushed a police van, leading to the death of Constable Nisar Ahmad of the Frontier Reserve Police.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bargai Police Station, Shakir Khan, along with two other constables, sustained injuries in the attack. The police were on patrol duty in a remote rural area near the tribal region when they were attacked.

In response to the ambush, a large contingent of police was deployed to search for the assailants, who had fled the scene. The attacks highlight the ongoing security challenges in the region and the risks faced by security personnel in their efforts to maintain safety and order.
