ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the horrifying abduction and brutal killing of passengers traveling between Quetta and Lahore. In a firm statement issued on Friday, he vowed that the blood of innocent citizens would not go in vain and pledged that those responsible for this heinous crime would face swift and stern justice.
The tragic incident occurred in Balochistan, where nine passengers from a Quetta-Lahore bus were forcibly taken and later murdered. The Prime Minister described the act as a form of terrorism, calling it “the terrorism of Fitna-ul-Hindustan,” and reaffirmed the state’s unwavering commitment to the fight against terror.
“Terrorism remains a threat,” he said, “but with unity, determination, and national resolve, we will eliminate it.” Addressing the bereaved families, he assured them that justice would be served and the culprits would be brought to account.
Deputy Commissioner Zhob, Naveed Alam, confirmed that the victims’ bodies were being shifted to Rakhni Hospital, and that authorities have launched an investigation. A comprehensive search and security operation is currently underway in the region.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti also denounced the massacre, calling the attackers “cowardly beasts.” He emphasized that this was not just a regional matter but a “state war” against terrorism, promising a forceful response and no tolerance for those who spill innocent blood.
The savage attack has triggered nationwide grief and outrage, once again casting a shadow over the security landscape of Balochistan, where civilians continue to be targeted in acts of violence.
