Suspect arrested in Karachi on charges of necrophilia

He was also arrested eight years ago on similar charges. Police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect in Karachi’s Korangi graveyard on charges of necrophilia.

The suspect was apprehended on Thursday after local residents caught him in the act, as detailed in the first information report registered at the Awami Colony Police Station. The accused, reportedly over 40 years old, was subjected to severe violence by the residents.

The complaint cited sections 297 (trespassing on burial places), 376 (punishment for rape), and 354 (assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to police, the accused monitored newly buried graves in the graveyard, exhuming the bodies of women to sexually assault them. Authorities noted that he had “dug up and desecrated four graves” for this purpose. It was revealed that the suspect was previously caught by locals eight years ago in the Korangi Number 1 Graveyard.
