KARACHI: Sindh High Court today upheld provincial government’s decision of blocking mobile phone SIMs of unvaccinated in the province.
A bench of the SHC hearing the petition also got annoyed over the plea with SHC Judge Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui with a view that the government’s decision is based on public welfare as COVID infected persons endanger health and lives of others as well.
The government is concerned for your family, friends in the legal fraternity, and others to avoid them from being getting infected by COVID-19, the judge said to the lawyer who filed the plea against SIMs blockage.

The Sindh High Court also imposed a fine of Rs25,000 on the lawyer for wasting time of the court.
The Sindh health department has recommended a four-phase strategy to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block mobile SIMs of unvaccinated people in the province amid a spike in COVID-19 cases.
