After a gap of 12 years, the Sialkot Express train has been officially restored and will now operate between Lahore, Wazirabad, and Sialkot, much to the delight of local residents.
The train received a warm and festive welcome at Sialkot Railway Station, where celebrations included traditional drum beats, dancing, and flower petals showered on the arriving locomotive.
According to the Station Master, the Sialkot Express will run from Lahore to Sialkot via Wazirabad, and then return from Sialkot to Lahore on the same route.
“The people of Sialkot had been demanding the return of this train service for years. Today, their demand has been met,” the Station Master said.
The revival of the Sialkot Express is seen as a significant step toward improving regional connectivity and easing travel for commuters in Punjab.
