Security Forces and Customs Discover Smuggled Goods in Balochistan

Karachi Customs Enforcement Successfully Halts Smuggling of 4,000 kg of Betel Nut from Balochistan to Karachi

In a successful operation, Karachi Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,000 kg of betel nut from Balochistan to Karachi as part of an ongoing anti-smuggling campaign.

Acting on a tip-off, customs officials intercepted a truck loaded with hay near the Hamdard checkpoint. During the search, they uncovered the concealed betel nut hidden within the cargo. The truck, registered as TKC012, was en route from Balochistan.

Collector Customs Basit Abbasi reported that the seized betel nut is valued at approximately Rs 4 million. The truck has been impounded, and a case has been registered against those involved.

Both the truck and the contraband have been transferred to the Anti-Smuggling Organisation’s warehouse, and an investigation is underway.

This seizure is part of Karachi Customs’ intensified efforts to combat smuggling activities and protect the local economy. Just two days prior, Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted another large consignment of smuggled betel nuts being transported from Balochistan to Karachi.
