ISLAMABAD: The Special Communications Organization (SCO) has launched a new freelancing hub in Tallu, a remote area of Roundu tehsil in Skardu district, marking a major step in expanding IT infrastructure in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Part of SCO’s IT Vision 2025 initiative, the facility is equipped with modern technology and aims to provide resources for both men and women in the region to engage in the digital economy. The hub connects local talent to global markets, creating opportunities in areas with limited traditional employment options.
This initiative is designed to enable residents to earn digitally and contribute to the national economy. The facility also offers access to international markets and digital skills for online business. Local leaders and youth representatives have praised the project, a joint effort between the Pakistan Army and SCO, which aims to enhance digital infrastructure across Gilgit-Baltistan’s remote areas.
The freelancing hub is set to serve as a model for similar projects in other parts of the region, contributing to digital inclusion and economic development.
