Bugti asserts that terrorists exploit 4G services to their advantage.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced that decisions regarding the restriction of 4G services would be addressed in the Assembly. He argued that terrorists are exploiting 4G telecommunications to their benefit.
Bugti described the deadly attack in Balochistan on August 26 as an ‘organized conspiracy’ against the state. He claimed that some individuals within the government are corrupt and sympathetic to terrorists, and he is actively identifying these people.
He stated that a large-scale operation is unnecessary, and instead, security forces will carry out intelligence-based operations. “These individuals are not just angry Baloch but terrorists,” he emphasized. To ensure public safety, Bugti mentioned the establishment of new check posts, despite some judicial opposition to them.
During a meeting in Quetta on Tuesday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Bugti discussed the current law and order situation and measures to protect the citizens of Balochistan. They strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks, honored the fallen security personnel, and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
The Interior Minister promised full cooperation with the provincial government to restore peace in the region. The Chief Minister also outlined plans to bolster security, including appointing new Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to address the shortage of officers. Funds required to enhance security will be drawn from the Apex Committee. Additionally, the meeting agreed to expand staff and resources in Chaman to address passport issues and ensure the FIA takes effective action against anti-state activities and social media propaganda.
