The mother accused Sameena Shah of failing to substantiate claims against herself in the Sarah Inam murder case, according to a district and sessions court’s comprehensive decision on Friday rejecting her bail request.
Judge Muhammad Sohail Sheikh of the Additional Sessions Court delivered the two-page decision.
The verdict states that Sameena asked for pre-arrest bail. The mother of the suspect was reportedly present at the scene of the crime, but she didn’t bother to call the police right away to report the murder, according to the story.
According to the judgement, Sameena “failed to prove the charges in the case against her false.”
According to the order, the police are still looking into the incident and might need Sameena’s help.
After Additional Sessions Judge Sohail Sheikh rejected Sameena’s request for bail, the Islamabad Police detained her on October 19.
Once Sameena and her attorney arrived before the judge, officers from Police Station Shehzad Town detained her outside the courtroom.
Shahnawaz is accused of killing Sarah at home on September 23 following an argument about a personal matter.
Shahnawaz admitted to the crime and claimed that he “thought” his wife was having an affair with another person when he was detained by the police from a farmhouse in Islamabad’s Chak Shahzad neighbourhood. Only three months of their marriage were spent together.
In response to Station House Officer (SHO) Nawazish Ali Khan’s complaint, police last month filed a first information report (FIR) under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
