Punjab Government Implements Digital Pension Rules and Launches New E-Pension System

The Gazette notification for the revised Punjab Pension Rules has been issued.

The Punjab government has announced a major overhaul of its pension system with the complete digitization of pension records.

A Gazette notification detailing the updated Punjab Pension Rules has been issued, signaling a shift from traditional paper-based processes to a fully digital system.

The new system introduces “E-Pension Papers” to replace the traditional “Pension Papers,” and the application process is now fully digitized. Medical certificates are now known as “e-medical certificates.”

These changes are part of broader amendments to the Punjab Civil Servants Act of 1974, designed to modernize and streamline pension administration. The Gazette Notification, issued by the Secretary of the Finance Department Punjab, formalizes these updates.
